US Army 1st Lt. Brian Brennan, a 23 year old Howell resident and graduate of Howell High School and The Citadel, was severely injured on May 7, 2008 from an IED attack, while leading a patrol in Afghanistan. Brian had been in Afghanistan for only two months when an IED exploded under the Humvee that he and four other men were traveling in. Brian and the gunner, Spc. Ryan Price of California, were the only ones to survive. However, they suffered similar fates. Brian was found in cardiac arrest. If not for the quick response of his fellow soldiers, Brian’s story might have a different ending.

The “Brennan Stands Alone Foundation” is organized to assist current and former members of the United States Armed Forces injured in the line of duty and their families.

Disabled Veterans Scholarship Program

We at the Eastern School of Fretted Instrument Repair are proud of our outreach to our nation’s veterans as they have returned home from duty during these troubled and demanding times.

Since being approved for training by the New Jersey Department of Veterans Training as a veteran approved vocational school, our guitar repair school has had several veterans attend our program and have a post graduate veteran’s employment rate of over 75%.

Effective February 20, 2013, the Eastern School of Fretted Instrument Repair is now offering an annual *full scholarship for a disabled veteran to be chosen no later than July 1, 2013 for the enrollment into the fall 2013 semester scheduled to begin Monday February 9, 2013.

*Includes tuition and $1500.00 tool credit

Together Sam and Lead Instructor Joseph “CJ” Civitano gave this classic piece the much needed care and attention to bring it back to life! A full fret dress was done applying new frets resulting in the fingerboard being straight & true! They entire body was given a once over bringing this Harmony back to its fullest potential and luster! They were able to keep and use the original pickguard adding to the charisma of the guitar! They had a great time playing it when it was all done!

Students may register for courses up to one week (5 business days) prior to the start of classes. Students are encouraged to register in person with the admissions officer. If unable to apply/enroll in person please contact the staff and we will assist in the enrollment process.

Please bring the following with you:

• Identification (current drivers license, birth certificate or passport)
• High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
• Foreign students/non U.S. citizens proof of legal status i.e. student visa
• Initial payment for registration and tuition fees. Students receiving financial aid or who have a student loan should bring documentation of such when registering.
